TFS Team in the Refugee Football

On Friday 22 June the Northern Ireland Community of Refugees and Asylum Seekers (NICRAS) organized a refugee football event at the Shaftesbury Community and Recreation Centre, Belfast. Enthusiastic about this event, Tools For Solidarity (TFS) decided to participate and succeed to mobilise a heterogeneous team for the tournament.

All the participants enjoyed this nice afternoon, a lot! The teams were very different in terms of physical capacity as well as technical abilities. The Women were more than welcome to attend this tournament but among the six teams very few were present. The teams were represented by different nationalities like Somali or Malian and we are proud to say that the TFS team was international. Thus, the following players composed our team: Anthony (Irish), Max (German), Ricardo (Portuguese), Sofia (Portuguese), William (French), Camille (French), Rubén (Spanish). The first match was very difficult but we demonstrated a good progression during all the games thanks to our amazing coach Anthony who gave us the motivation and facilitated a good cooperation. At the end, we lost all the matches but the most important thing was the friendly spirit among all the teams.

Many thanks to NICRAS for enabling this great opportunity!
