On the 7th of June 2012, Tools for Solidarity (TFS) — Downpatrick workshop received a certificate of thanks from Action Mental Health. The certificate was given by Alex Maskey, chairperson of the all party group of the Department for Social Development.
On the 3rd and 4th of June 2012, Tools for Solidarity (TFS) participated in the Lifestyle Green Fair. The Fair was held in the Crawfordsburn Country Park. The stall and exhibition were set up and the TFS volunteers spent the days explaining to visitors about their work, aims, and strategies adopted, in addition to collecting tool donations from visitors.
On the 9th of May Tools For Solidarity — Belfast workshop was visited by the Global Solidarity Champions (GSC). The GSC are a part of the Northern Ireland Public Service Alliance (NIPSA). The visit was an update on the Mwanza Sewing and Training Centre (MSTC) which NIPSA provides financial support to.
